Wolfgang Schmidt was born in Kassel - Germany. He started his music studies at the Frankfurter Hochschule under the guidance of Gründler. He has sung in the most important European and American Theaters such as the Wiener Staatsoper - Siegfried – at the Teatro alla Scala di Milano - Siegfried – at the Royal Opera House - Florestano – at the New York Metropolitan Opera - Siegfried and Tannhäuser – at the Paris Opera Bastille - Tristan – and he is regularly invited to participate in the prestigious Wagnerian Festival in Bayreuth. Performed at the Festival in 2005.
