Born in Japan in 1977 ,Yoko Kikuchi studied with Kiyoko Tanaka in Japan. In 1996 she moved to Italy where she studied piano with Franco Scala, Antonio Ballista, and Fortepiano with Stefano Fiuzzi,at the "Incontri col Maestro"International Piano Academy in Imola,in 2003 she had diploma with Master. She won first prize at International Mozart Competition in Salzburg on January 2002, In August 2003 she gave two acclaimed performances of Mozart Piano Concerto No.21 with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, under the direction by Ivor Bolton at the Mozart Matinee of the Salzburg Festival. She has performed with conductor Gerd Albrecht, Laurence Foster, Alexsander Dmitriev, Hubert Soudant ,Ivor Bolton ,HK Gruber,Gunter Pichiler, Dennis Russell Davis,Christian Arming, Pedro Halffter, Christian Mandeal, Anton Nanut, Hanns Martin Schneidt, Saulis Sondeckis, Erich Binder, Golo Berg,Junichi Hirokami, Tadaaki Odaka,Seikyo Kim,Yip wing-sie and others. She has performed with Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg, Gulbenkian Orchestra, Franz Liszt Chamber Orchestra,Robert-Schumann Philharmonie of Chemnitz, Camerata Virtuosi of New York, l'Hellas Orchestra of Patrasso, Sloveni Radio Television Orchestra, New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic, Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra,Tokyo Symphony Orchestra,Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, l'Orchestra Ensemble l'Orchestra Pomeriggi Musicale di Milano,l'Orchestra da camera di Mantova,la Sicilia Symphony Orchestra, l'Orchestra "Haydn"di Bolzano,Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra,Nagoya Philharmonic, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra,Hong Kong Sinfonietta and others. In May 2008 she performed with Ensemble Wien Berlin, in November 2006 tour with Afflatus Quintet and in May 2005 performed with Leipzig Quartet. Her debut CD Mozart Album: Piano Concerto no.21& Piano Sonata no.KV331 Alla turca was awarded the 18th Music PenClub Prize's "Best Recording by a Japanese Artist" in 2006. In 2007 she won 'Idemitsu Awards' In addition,she also participated in several music festival such as Mozart-Matinee of Salzburg Festival ,Schloss Eggenberg concert series in Austria, Sintra Festival, Madeira Festival, Leiria Festival in Portugal, Settembre Musica in Torino ,Maggio musicale Fiorentino in Firenze.
