He studied at the Conservatorio of Piacenza with Tavolini, then with Fedor Druzinin, Lonquich, Farulli and Giuranna. During the 1995-96 season he was invited to participate as first viola with the Gustav Mahler Orchestra with Abbado and Haitink. At the moment he is first viola of the orchestra of the Teatro la Fenice in Venice. As soloist he collaborated with the Orchestras of Fenice in Venice, the Arena of Verona, the Regio of Parma and others. He has performed chamber music with Quarta, Ughi, Petracchi, Filippini, Brunello and Accardo. There are many of his recordings for RAI International, for Radio Vaticana, he has recorded for the labels Stradivarius, Real Music and Brilliant Classic. Performed at the Festival in 2012.
